SO, if this is the case, anyone out there with a vindictive boy/girlfriend could end your career over a lapse in judgement & allowing them to video or photograph you having sex. Anyone else think its odd that this is exactly how Kardashian became famous?

An emotional argument is irrational -- instead based on fear, or hatred, or anger. My objection to whats-her-name teaching schoolkids is not based on any of that. It never was. There is plenty of rational basis for the idea that a porn star is incapable of executing the job responsibilities of a school teacher. You just can't seem to grasp that the job responsibilities of a schoolteacher are much broader than simply lecturing content and grading papers.
What makes you think I'm not 'calm'? Like I said ... "you can't honestly believe that nonsense." Turns out I was right about that, too. Sarcasm breezed past me, I guess.

Permalink Reply by Paul_of_TX on February 6, 2013 at 1:45pm You are getting ridiculous. News article posted about a teacher getting fired for her porn past. We simply agreed that the school has the right to fire the teacher. They have the right to fire a teacher for this or many other activities. There was no judgement or emotion involved. It was as simple as us saying that yes in our country today an employer can fire an employee for certain actions.
We even said she can go and teach at another school if they will hire her.
And I have the right to call the school district and the rest of you idiots for doing so and laying out why I believe that is the case.
Like I would have the right to remove my child from that district and look for one that actually cared more about education over piss poor management on the part of the school administrators.
Permalink Reply by Paul_of_TX on February 6, 2013 at 3:17pm You would remove your child? Are you under the impression that only people with a background in porn have the ability to teach? There is no doubt that there is someone out there who is better qualified than this teacher. That is something that can be said about almost everyone no matter what their profession is. I'm afraid you are setting yourself up for misery and failure if you are looking for a school district that is more concerned with education than they are with mismanagement.
We are no longer emotional, now we are idiots?
Permalink Reply by Jack Bauer on February 6, 2013 at 3:55pm Good grief. Do you have any actual reason to believe this lady was that good a teacher? Or even an average teacher?
There's plenty of reason to think she can't do the job anymore ... she's a distraction from the content, an administrative liability, lacks credibility as an authority figure, shakes parental confidence in the school, and is a poor role model.
What evidence do you have that she's worth keeping around despite all that?
JB
Well Jack, I don't know if she is a quality teacher. That is the entire basis for my argument. It was never discussed.
Is it really that difficult to follow what I am arguing about?
Permalink Reply by Jack Bauer on February 6, 2013 at 5:06pm That's not an answer. This case is not a blank slate. We know a lot about her, and the situation she intentionally put herself in. We know the affect it has had, and will have repeatedly -- the affect on her students, her classroom, her credibility, her authority, her parental rapport, her respectability, and the ability of school administration to handle the problems she causes.
There is plenty of information on the table to make a decision -- all of it bad. So, the question remains, what evidence is there that she's worth keeping around despite everything we do know? The answer is none.
The truth is no teacher, no matter how talented, can overcome the vast downside she created for herself. The "quantitative" doesn't matter because the hole she dug herself into is insurmountable.
She's more trouble than she's worth, and doing more damage than good ... no matter how much she's worth or how good she is. That's why she was fired. And why it was right.
JB
Sorry you don't like my answer, it still makes it my answer. The story gives no actual statement on the ability of her teaching, grades of student, etc.
My weighted scale of the worth of teacher MUST include this. For you, it isn't as important.
The truth is, no teacher FOR YOU, can overcome this. Not, no teacher ever.
Permalink Reply by Shane on February 6, 2013 at 2:04pm I'm not leaving my kid with a porn star all day for a year.
I'd rather have a porn star who is capable of teaching than the morally upstanding fuckwit of a first grade teacher I saw every Sunday in church who, a year later, I still want to choke the fuck out for the damage she did to my kid with her inability to do a goddamned thing right in the classroom.
Permalink Reply by Paul_of_TX on February 6, 2013 at 3:20pm Last I checked the census data there were more than two just a few people remaining on the planet. I would bet that besides the one teacher your child had and the teacher in the article there one or two other teachers available out there to be hired.
Permalink Reply by Shane on February 6, 2013 at 3:22pm And I'd still take the porn star over the retard. What's your point?
