It Purely Ain't Over!
Well, now that the bread and circuses of the NFL playoffs and the abbreviated NHL season are with us, anybody care to comment on how far down the road the cans were kicked and how much pork was shipped home by the Congress? Effectively, the posturing on both sides just made the fiscal cliff taller and steeper in a couple of months' time. If there's no real budgetary resolution in March, we're looking at some serious reductions in federal services. This has the potential to make the complete government shutdown of 1995 look like nothing at all.

I am pretty tired of the revolving crisis mode of government. Though not there yet, I'm fairly close to wanting the whole thing to fall apart just so we can pick up the pieces and move on.
