Here we have two ideas god and evoluison both have some compealing evidence. we know things change to fit their envoirment the changes occuer over time thus evoluison. With god we see how things like selflessness and basic sympathy come from despite them breaking evolutison so here we have two issues with out evoluison animales would all be gone with out a god then we would all be the orcs from lord of the rings. it seems only when both are allowed to exist does humanity as we know it logicly exist.

"If you are going to claim that an all powerful, omniscient, benevolant, eternal creator is out there - you're going toneed to provide evidence to show it before you'll get people to believe it."

Liam, you know there are millions upon millions of people throughout history and this very minute who have and do believe it!

"Alternately, I have a giant fire breathing invisible dragon in my garage. He's very shy though, andveryquiet. So you'll just have to trust me."

Wow!
You've impressed JoneD.

Aye - shortly after I typed it, I realized my mistake. Many people do accept very many things on faith. I should have clarified that to mean me (or people like me) who do not trust to faith in the absence of evidence.

Your only mistake was leaving out the modifier "rational" before "people".

i would also like to highlight that theres have been sicentfic tests that faith is good for your health. Sure at some level you have to have a littel bit of faith but we all use faith every day.

I have never said faith is a bad thing. Nor would I dispute it's heath benefits (meditation has similar benefits, without the faith element though).

That, however, is not evidence that what people have faith in, exists.

liam you have been takeing shots at my ideas so i think its only fair to switch why do we not need a god?

LOL

Did Justin make a pass at Liam just now ?

Laplace to Napoleon on astronomy.

It works without him.

what work with out him the world but since god may exist we dont know its working with out him so im going to need to see your evidence that the world is working with out him.

You are really not very good at this.

Good bourbon on a budget

My friends and fellow gentleman, i find my supply of liquid levity growing disturbingly low. Can any of you recommend a good bourbon at a decent price? For reference, i would consider up to $50 a "decent price". I do like a good scotch now and then, but i really am more of a bourbon drinker, straight up. To get a feel for my tastes, i have found that i enjoy Dickel's Original and Wild Turkey (yes, the original lighter fluid). I'm curious about Jim Beam Devil's Cut, and i would like to know some…See More
