Obama and his ilk really do think the voting citizens of the United States of America are a bunch of inbred illiterate neanderthals.
He says the Constitution is fundamentally flawed because it doesn't give enough power to government and some of us raise questions about him and his loyalty to America and the Constitution. Who in their right mind would elect someone to defend the Constitution when that person considers the Constitution fundamentally flawed.
He seeks to nationalize the countries health care system and we point out his socialist tendencies.
He and I'm sure lots of other Democrats come up with a new slogan of "Forward" for his reelection campaign and I just can't wait to see and hear all the twisting and dismissing that will be blasted at the public ridiculing anyone who points out that he might be a little bit socialist. This is no mistake. If anyone knows what the word "forward" means it would be the Domecrats. How many of them are in the Progressive Caucus or have admitted being in support of socialism or communism? This is not a subject they are naive about.

Do you have any other links that will explain what the Forward was supposed to symbolize for the 150 year old publications?
Also, W Bush also complained that he didn't have enough power. I would be willing to be just about every single president complained about it many times. Even King FDR probably cried like a baby about it.
This is pretty much just an extension of the overreach thread. You are preaching to the choir, but not really showing someone on the fence or even on the left anything substantial. I would love to read more about this Forward conspiracy, but I just can't put too much creedance to a blog that listed a 150 year old paper, a 100 year old paper and a soccer team as evidence of something evil and communistic. Then the comments underneath that I read all revolved around still not believing that Obama was born in Hawaii....
Permalink Reply by Paul_of_TX on May 1, 2012 at 8:57am So Karl Marx and Vladimir Lenin named their publications "Forward" and you dismiss it because it's just a 150 year old publication.
Next Liam will be replying to this pretending not to know who Marx or Lenin are and why they are important.
I am merely asking why did Marx and Engels pick forward for their publication, What is the meaning behind the word as they originally used it 150 years ago so that I can properly compare it to how it is used today.
The blog you posted didn't go into it, they just said that the word was used and because the word was used I must be scared. I like full context before I get scared.

Permalink Reply by Paul_of_TX on May 1, 2012 at 9:46am So the President of the United States of America comes out and makes his campaign slogan the same as a various Socialist publications and your question is "what did they mean back when they first used the word."
The bigger issue is that today it is used to signify Socialism and Obama picked that as his campaign slogan. If any elected official were to have a few socialists around him who knew about such things it would be Obama.
He could have made his slogan "Blumpkin", doesn't change the fact that my wife won't give me one and that honestly it is a slogan and I will be voting on 4 years of actual record not giving a damn about a slogan.
You guys never stop at a chance to paint him as a socialist/communist, but not one of you have remotely proven to me that he is, that he has tried to govern as one, or has a remote chance in hell of inacting anything closely resembling socialism/communism
Seriously now, what the hell did the Forward stand for back in the 1800's?

The same thing as today "socialism."

Permalink Reply by Liam S. on May 1, 2012 at 11:18am I will patiently await the unveiling of Mitt Romney’s slogan, “Forward…no, backward…no, states can opt out."
For my own part - I do not see how the choice of the word "forward" - which has a HUGE number of correlations to progressive policy, change, movement, progress, etc. necessarily means that he is admitting he's a socialist. It's a common word, and while I'm sure some of his advisors are familiar with the use of that word in communist/socialist sloganeering, he also used "Yes We Can" which was similar to George Bush's "Yes American Can" - two words alike - clearly, Obama is really a conservative!
(I still like Ike).
