Captain comb-over's ignorant statements about illegal immigrants were followed by a surge in his popularity amongst republicans, according to CNN polls.

He tried to defend his characterization of Mexicans as rapists and drug dealers by citing some statistic that indicated 80% of central american migrants were raped as they passed through Mexico on their way to enter the US illegally.

That sounds like it might be true - I know that rape is such a threat that central american women often pay for birth control shots before they cross into Mexico in anticipation of the threat... but where he proves his complete ignorance is in his using this fact to validate his assertion that the refugees are rapists - they're rape victims, not rapists. And it's very telling that they're willing to take that risk. What does that say about the conditions they are fleeing?

Yeah, he's "confusing" correlation with causation because it helps his argument.

Yeah helps the left's argument.

+1

It's fun to watch him make an ass of himself over and over.

What he said is definitely a little much, but I'll stick up for him. He didn't say Mexicans were bad. He said they weren't sending in their best. Which is definitely true, if they are willing to break our law, then want to live here sapping away my tax dollars and raising all our blood pressure worrying about what we'll do with their sorry behinds. I have no respect for someone who would do that. Also, even if another politician felt the same way he does, there's few who have the balls to say it. At least he's his own man.

Furthermore, the awful job they do putting up walls is enough to have them deported. Just this past weekend I was cleaning up after their poor workmanship. What man with any self respect would put a wall up over the old carpet, a big old nail, and a sheet of paper, then leave the caution tape tied to the stud and sticking out??

You should definitely judge a whole other nation and form national policy on the basis of this one incident.

I'm not. It was a joke.

And yet you seem to take your experience as a confirmation of Trump's thoughts on the matter.

No, my reasons for sticking up for Trump are in the first paragraph. The second one, as I just said, is a joke. Lighten up.

Must be that distinctly unfunny conservative "humor" where they try to disguise racism as jokes.

K den.

I didn't find it particularly funny (and you make jokes all the time that are taken the wrong way). But since when is Mexican a race? If I applied for a Mexican citizenship and got it, would I cease to be white? Has anyone told that Rachael something lady about this?

In all seriousness though, I've never been to Mexico, I don't live even close to the border in the US. But there are a decent amount of Mexicans here, I don't know how many are legal or not BUT, the reason you might see ones just standing around smoking is because the majority of them get up at 4-5 AM, and work constantly.
