The Art of Warriorness

Just as Sun Tzu’s “The Art of War,” has been applied to many different aspects of modern life; I believe there are many great lessons to be learned from all of the warriors and warrior societies, from SEALS to Samurais, and Spetsnaz to Spartans.

@Adam - I admit I'm remiss in my duties to participate. My apologies for the lack of activity. When i have some spare time I intend to seek more warrior-esque information like how to make a "Malaysian Swing", my personal favorite of booby-traps. But it would be more productive for everybody if you read my most recent posting. Maybe posting a little more often than I do would be helpful too.

Peace to you & yours,
M

The art of the cold shower: every morning take a five minute warm shower in the morning (enough time to clean yourself and your hair) after that switch it over to cold. As much as you can bare....this will do a few things; it will increase testosterone, increase blood flow and focus in the early hours, and lastly it will etch a man groove right into the top of your head and brain... If you can take a cold shower in the winter you can fight a bull, climb a mountain...you can do anything if you can push yourself that hard.

It's really a little disapointing that this group isn't more "active." we need to work on that.

In all corners of the world we find the warrior culture. In each are great teachings above and beyond the act of taking life. How wonderful it would be for us to share what we have learned from them. For forty years I have studied Bushido, and the tribal path of Native Americans. 3 years ago I was honored to take part in the Lakota Sundance. The lessons are still unfolding. My tribe also has teachings of the warrior way. The first was that before we go to war, we must first seek peace. I trust that our discussions here will help us grow as warriors in our own way. My lineage is that of the Rabbi. I believe that my family has been a Rabbinic family for approximately 1000 years. Rabbis worth the name are, I believe, warriors seeking to serve. Though I must admit that at a few board meetings my mind has drifted to the idea of a more physical form of battle with members of the board.

Great pic Kevin! I've studied Native American cultures since I lived on a rez as a kid. They were nearly all great warrior cultures and full of wisdom!

My Experience with PIT Training

So I just got back from PIT training this past weekend.Wow.Some really beautiful work done with some wonderful men.  It amazes me how I can step into these groups of men and have different standards, viewpoints, and stories and love them like brothers.  I truly feel blessed to have these challenging and growing experiences.I had been going to an i group for a while now and so these processes weren't exactly new but discussing them and understanding them on an intellectual level was really…See More

Women: The Infallible Baromoter

Jon Quincy Adams once said,“From all that I have read of history and government of human life and manners, I have drawn this conclusion, that the manners of women were the most infallible barometer to ascertain the degree of morality and virtue of a nation.”To get the thread rolling or spinning I would say he is right to a very high degree. What say yous guys.See More
