I felt the book The Swerve was 1/3 too long. After More/Erasmus the connection wasn't close enough, and I felt the author was fishing for a way to make Lucretius relatable to contemporary folks.

My "fancy" book club read some letter by Epicurus meant to summarize his teachings. Later we read what we could of Philodemus. Everyone liked Lucretius better.

I haven't read any Epicurus. I try to resist the rumors that he is a hedonistic glutton who enjoys bubble parties and orgies in golden tubs of caviar. Share some of his stuff with us!
