Forty Winks: A Group About Sleep is a group for men who are interested in sleep health or who suffer from sleep apnea, insomnia, or other sleep-related problems.
Members: 27
Latest Activity: Apr 19
I have decide to expand this group from a narrow focus on sleep apnea to a broader focus on sleep health and sleep-related issues in general.
This is a forum where men can give or seek advice on sleep, insomnia, narcolepsy, or sleep apnea-related problems. Discussion posts can also include info on choosing a mattress, exercise advice for alleviating symptoms, or research articles on the science of healthy sleep, etc.

Comment by Hunter on March 22, 2013 at 8:30pm I only started the meds a month ago and this sleeping thing has been bugging me for as long as I can remember.
Well, whether you like the water or not, just try it for a week instead of the milk and see if it makes a difference.
Can the meds be affecting your sleep then?
Comment by Hunter on March 22, 2013 at 8:22pm Well, I don't like drinking plain water very much and I am taking a medicine that absorbs all of the moisture in my body really quickly so I have to drink as much as I can round the clock. I drink water when I have to, such as at school, but when I can drink other stuff, I usually prefer that.
I would cut back on all that, then. I've noticed that when I drink milk late at night, that I feel different when I wake up--namely my joints are stiffer. But I'm much older than you.
But seriously, don't drink so much that late at night. Just try it for a week and see if it works out.
You may also want to try some stretches and deep breathing. I know that always sounds silly, but I feel better in the morning if I stretch before I go to bed.
Comment by Hunter on March 22, 2013 at 8:04pm Oh, and I am 17.
Comment by Hunter on March 22, 2013 at 8:04pm I pretty much keep drinking anything until I go to bed. Most of the time it is milk.
Do you drink any of those late in the evening?
Comment by Hunter on March 22, 2013 at 7:17pm I rarely drink anything with caffeine anymore. Now pretty much all I drink is Vitamin Water, Propel, and milk. And I always eat at around 6.
What is your caffeine consumption like? Also, I've noticed that if I eat too late in the evening, especially a big meal, it prevents me from getting to sleep.
