They shouldn't have bought that house in the 9th ward of New Orleans, they should have evacuated prior to Katrina, and they definitely shouldn't have slept through the storm!

An elevator on the lowest floor?

A man walks into a bar and asks for a glass of water. The bartender pulls a gun on the man, cocks it, and points it at the mans head. The man says 'Thank you!, and walks out of the bar. 

What happened?

If you sailed from the ocean to where the river pours into it, you'd be at its mouth. Then if you sailed up it to where it began you'd be at its head.
