Following prostate surgery in 2000 I was left with erectile dysfunction (I couldn't get an erection). I tried several of the options out there and finally found one that worked for me: an inflatable…Continue

In response to Andy,

My libido has been low since my 40's even though my T levels were in the 300's.   I only had sex once a month or 6 weeks. With Puritan thinking also played a part so when when I started having ED and withdrew into my own hell from my wife I would only masterbate once every 4-6 weeks.

Thus I believe that because of those situations, not only did I get prostate cancer, but also lost one and a half inches in length and an inch in circumference.  I now know from https://www.inspire.com/groups/us-too-prostate-cancer/  and You Are Not Alone Now that it is Use It or Lose It!  I do not know if that was from my Radical Prostatectomy surgery or also from the years in conjunction with the years of lack of use.  Believe me.  Without my God-given nocturnal erections, I now pump almost every morning or inject myself to get blood flow down there.

In response to what Ian, Rene, and David say below, I, too, have seen that statistic in Men's Health posts on Facebook, and read a Q&A by Dr. Bob Arnot years ago in Men's Journal that said for ideal prostate health, men should ejaculate more than five times per week.  Those seem like awfully high numbers to me.  My doctor and I have talked about ED, but not about that.

I am on the email list of Us TOO, and I received a link to a video today that I wanted to share with you all (and with other men as well).  http://www.ustoo.org/Education-Videos

Unfortunately, Ian and Steve, this link has been changed into a sales site for Men's Health publisher Rodale.  Do a search under "Men's Health" for "prostate" and it takes you to books for sale on the subject.  I guess money wins out over men's health.  (such a shame!)

here's the specific article that Steve is referring to:
http://www.menshealth.com/health/ejaculation-and-prostate-cancer-risk

sounds reasonable.  it is a prescription i am already following, and will continue to follow.

MensHealth Reduce Risk Cancern 40%

I wonder if we in this group had known this back then, if we would be in the shape we are in today. It states to ejaculate 21 times a month. Do you think?

Everyone, I really would like to hear from each of you.

René, I have heard that frequent ejaculations are good for the prostate, whether they happen with another person or with yourself.  (And I have also heard that it is more important for a man if his brother has prostate cancer than his father.)  I am not a doctor; these are just things I have heard.

Todd McFarland replied to Christopher Everet's discussion How do you handle just being friends with your crush?
"The answer is simple. If you haven't already, make your feelings for her clear.  You don't want to walk away without knowing for sure that you are in the friend zone. If she puts you in the friend zone, forget about her and move on.…"

Todd McFarland replied to George Corbul's discussion How does one become a 'real' man exactly?
"Agreed that women's ideas vary widely, which means there are women for who like whatever type of man you want to be.   Don't let any woman define what a real man is for you.  That's ass-backwards."

"What? It was light hearted. I don't think I can learn how to read people's minds and tell if their dad is the coach of the team. But thank you. Maybe they aren't that helpful."
