I'm very open to any place but I would like to go to Asia/eastern Europe. With my skill set I'm most likely going to be teaching English.

Good luck, Ryan! Any idea what region of the world you'd like to serve in?

I'm in the process of applying to AmeriCorps programs. Just playing the waiting game now. It'll be good to hear from others who have already done it.

I did a year of Americorps with Habitat for Humanity in '96, the best of both worlds...build houses for the needy and get money for college while doing it. My wife use to work for the Americorps Grant program at Habitat. Please ask me questions!

I hope so, that is why I petitioned to have this created since there wasn't one before. Also since I am considering one or the other after college it will be a good way to hear what they are like.

What? There has to be a ton of manly former Peace Corps volunteers out there! I served in Guatemala from 2003-2005 and it was two of the most important years in my life.

"Actually, the "Bohemians" the club is named for were originally New York newspaper reporters.  Pretty much an American construction based on appreciation of French counterculture of the 1840s.  (It would appear the French though…"

Tony Wolf replied to Joshua Wolf's discussion Fraternal orders for young men?
"I agree, but I was referring to the Bohemian counter-culturists that inspired the name - https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Bohemianism ."

Native Son replied to Joshua Wolf's discussion Fraternal orders for young men?
"It's worse than that. The original full members of the Bohemian Club were San Francisco newspaper reporters. Not so much a counter-culture group, but more a private after work hangout for the working press. Artists and musicians were allowed as…"
