I want to start a discussion of other Naturopathic practices. I personally go to the acupuncturist and take chinese herbs as prevention. I love the needles and especially love cupping. It always…Continue

Comment by Scott J on April 30, 2013 at 11:07pm I made mention of this in the general forum, but this group I think would have special insite.
This afternoon I experienced close, intimate, nonsexual touch with a good buddy. I can't really describe it, other than so deep and bonding, it very much was a sacred thing.
www.touchpractice.com talks about much the same kind of thing as what we did. Holding one another, intimately, for about 90 minutes. No one got off. Instead, very satisfying, uplifting, affirmative and affectionate.
I found the best thing is reflexology. If there are spots on your body that are too painful to touch, do reflexology and the pain subsides and a good massage can happen. My wife had sciatica the other day and did reflexology a couple of times and no more pain and free motion/movement.
Comment by alophant on April 30, 2012 at 11:35pm "I've been told" seems to be our common bond. Working with my hands has always been part of my life. Whether as a swimmer, a photographer, wood chopper, cook, bartender, once i moved towards office my hands were left feeling useless. I decided to go to I.P.S.B. here in Los Angeles and get improved techniques down with my CMT. I never have really launched a career other than working on friends and such. I'm open for trading with y'all. i have a nice underused table. I like to do a combo acupressure/circulatory and i usually run 75 to 90 mins.
I've been told I give great massages. Probably should learn the proper technique in doing it but nobody has ever complained when I've given them a massage.
Comment by Tarquin Anstruther on April 23, 2012 at 8:25am I'd love to learn how to massage properly, have done it a few times with my wife and with male friends and really love it and I find it very relaxing.
Comment by Jim on April 6, 2012 at 1:54pm Im a certified massage therapist, but I do not do it as a full time job. Therefore, I'm lucky enough to do it for fun or for extra spending money (great for saving for that vegas trip!).
So, since I love massage, I often trade with local therapists. Its a great barter system and really a win-win.
Has anyone tried 'massage trading' as a way to get bodywork while not spending a small fortune? I don't want to advocate taking money away from hard working therapists, but it can get expensive.
