@ Brandon... My first bike - 1978 Honda Hawk 400. Live up in CT, bought it from a buddy for $1000. Great condition, and I rode it the other day when it was 35 degrees outside. Felt great!

So today was my first more-than-two-blocks-away practice ride on a near-dead Carabela Milestone 150 on my way to buy my first motorcycle, and boy was I scared, I started with some cornering near home but was bored 10 minutes in, so my friends and I took it to a long straight almost abandoned street (so little traveled it has gravel almost at the end, and the end is a small river) I already have the basics so I decided to open the throttle, first: nothing, suddenly, that rusty old bike came to life like a bat out of hell; equally exited and frightened I bolted across the street that didn´t seem as long as it did before, dodging gravel and holes in the ground I managed to stay in-course and most importantly on-top. after a few rounds and some rain we went back through a very busy street, my thoughts? If I can drive this old unbalanced bike in this god-forsaken place, I think I´m making some progress

@Brandon

yeah i ride year round as well, bundle up, buy heated suit if you are into that, just remember cagers are not used to seeing bikes out this time of year so be extra vigilant towards them

Hey guys, Just got my first bike 2 weeks ago ('03 883) and I am super excited.  I'm riding to work all week next week, its supposed to be in the 20s and 30s.  Anyone else ride when the mercury drops?

@Brian, damn that's cold, that is still like -13 for us in Fahrenheit, I think the coldest I ever rode in was like -6F, on a funeral escort thought I was going to freeze to death and lose fingers. That was many years ago and I was much younger.

Tail end , it rains a lot very windy with a wind chill of 25 below , we work in Celsius not sure what that is in Fahrenheit . Walt Whitman thought sanfran was cold without snow well he never visited here .

Personal and Political Advice from Rome.

His Holiness, Pope Francis, has a warning sign posted outside his office door.It begins "VIETATO LAMENTARSI"In English, "WHINERS PROHIBITED."The sign ends with “To get the best out of yourself, concentrate on your potential and not on your limitations. Stop complaining and take steps to improve your life.” The same advice, in a far, far blunter form, is found in a book."Shut Up, Stop Whining, and Get A Life: A Kick Butt Approach to a Better Life."--Larry Winget, 2004See More
