Disregarding the actual comic book "series", who are your favorite characters?  My favorite comic book character of all time is Benjamin J. Grimm a.k.a The Thing.

Started collecting when I was 12 and still collect today. Hate to sound like an old fart, but today's books aren't as good as the ones I grew up reading.  I remember the excitement of riding my bike to the corner store and searching the racks for a copy of Action Comics, Batman, Detective or Superman.  This is the book that got me started all those years ago.  What was your first book?

Excluding Action Comics, I am generally within 10 issues of completing every DC "legacy" superhero title back to each run's first 15-cent issue.

Marvel, I collect more sporadically. I have the big Bronze Age books - Hulk 181, GS X-Men 1, X-men 94, ASM 129, etc. But Marvel is more a "collect-just-the-runs-that-I-like," as opposed to DC, where I'm a completist.

Lately, my interests have turned to Bronze Age horror. I'm working on high-grade runs of House of Mystery, House of Secrets, The Witching Hour and Ghosts. And I'm a handful of issues away from completing the mid-70s Marvel horror titles. (Gee, guess which issue of Werewolf by Night I'm missing?)

Chaplain Dan, you remember Creepy and Eerie, products of Warren Publishing?  That was the company that published reprints of Will Eisner's The Spirit, one of my all time favorites.  I even have a personalized sketch of the Spirit drawn by Will Eisner in which said character speaks directly to me in a word balloon.
