How many of you have done it, after 50?  My wife and I are both getting masters degrees.  I'm getting a master of arts in Christian counselling.  What were your experiences?   Are you glad you did?

I had plans to get an advanced degree after I turned 50 but got sick and that was that. Good for both of you! Great to see that you are not letting age, which is just a number, hold you back!!

Before I was 50, I spent 8.5 years going to school at night finishing a bachelors and getting a masters.

Expect to be tired a lot.

What is nice is being a student beyond the traditional age of college - this is not just a 'babysitting' gig for you, you want to be there and apply yourself. It's a lot more gratifying.

Good luck! And Enjoy!

I got my MBA at age 45, and I think it was a waste, but that's only because of my career and the degree fit.  To that point, your question is too broad, because any person's satisfaction with a degree has everything to do with their particular situation, career, goals and the degree they pursue, and has nothing to do with your situation.  Only you can know if the degree is right for you.
