2 more days until I am out in the field
Well, it is official, the hunt is on for this year. It will be post rut in early december, but a hunt is a hunt.
Jealous, that is on my bucket list
Comment by Nolan Poulson on October 11, 2012 at 3:59pm So the Utah Muzzeloader Hunt has come and gone. Did anybody out there have any success?? Pics?? I had a deer tag, no luck. However the real focus was my sisters big bull tag. We focused on that hunt with hopes of coming across a worthy buck to harvest (the hunts coincide). I am happy to say that she was successful. It was so fun to be with her and play a role in her big hunt. Here are a couple pics.
Comment by Rick Stevens on October 11, 2012 at 3:10pm I don't have a lease, either, this year and will miss hunting. I am hoping to go to a friend's near Kerrville later in the season. They have some great exotics.
This is the first Nov since I started hunting that I won't be hunting. I need to get me a lease!!!
Comment by Nolan Poulson on May 23, 2012 at 12:20pm I have a question I want to throw out to all of you. Muzzleloaders! I am looking to upgrade my muzzleloader from a traditional to an in-line. I have narrowed it down to the following:
Knight
Mountaineer
Disc Extreme
Bighorn
CVA
Optima
Thompson Center
Omega
What are your opinions of these guns? I am in Utah and hunt Mule Deer and Elk.

Comment by Jesse Harper on March 7, 2012 at 7:48am I just want to introduce myself. My Name is Jesse Harper I am originally from Oregon, however I currently reside in England. I have for as long as I can remember enjoyed the thought of hunt "being out in nature etc." While growing up in Oregon I never fully appreciated the outdoors as much as I would have liked. I have pledged to myself that I will change this when I move back to Oregon next year. I have looked at dates for the hunters safety course in oregon, I know that a winchester 270 will do me fine hunting for deer. My son is 6 and he is always in front of the tv or ps3. I want to show him that there is more to life than that. Why do it in a video game when you can do it for real. I have researched extensively on different cleaning techniques, what calibre rifle to have (although what is a good calibre for elk?) When the seasons are and license fees. thank you for taking the time to read this.
