Manly Character

A discussion about what it means to be manly on the inside. We can participate in all the manly activities we desire and still be a coward. Men are involved in a variety of careers and hobbies that differ greatly, but we can all still be great men.

"But, it being my intention to write a thing which shall be useful to him who apprehends it, it appears to be more appropriate to follow up the real truth of the matter then the imagination of it; for many have pictured republics and principalities which in fact have never been known or seen, because how one lives is so far distant from how one ought to live, that he who neglects what is done for what ought to be done, sooner effects his ruin then his preservation; for a man who wishes to act  entirely  up to his professions of virtue soon meets with what destroys him among so much evil." Niccolo` Machiavelli ~The Prince~

My intention in sharing this peice of history with all of you is to simply warn you not to live in the clouds but here in the dirt with the rest of us. It is okay to have lofty goals, as I have many myself, but remember that we must all do what needs to be done first then attempt to attain the heveanly goals set before us.

The different ways you can show that you are manly on the inside are ... You pick scents/cologne that are manly by smell, When you see an animal like a raccoon or a deer you instinctively think prey, If you walk like a man with your feet some what wide Not close walking on an invisible line like a woman, You get defensive/territorial when a male stranger looks suspicious or threatening to you, You strive to provide for yourself, family and others you deeply care for and Your brain is full of manly ideas whether it's hunting or working to raising a family and coming up with new ideas on improvement or something that you would think that would be a good manly project.

Actions not words show the true character of a man, as far as I am concerned.

Absolutely right.  Thoughts and deeds are the measure of a man.

Gentlemen, I like this particular subject. I hope to pick up on a thing or two and contribute back as well.

In reference to the adversity quote below:
"Adversity for a man is like training for a pugilist ... it reduces him to his fighting weight"
Also Unknown author but a quote I have always enjoyed
