Bow ties on a budget?

Started by Brown Fox. Last reply by Brown Fox Jan 16. 12 Replies

I want to start wearing bow ties more often, but I only have a formal black one and a very nice patterened gray one. When I shop around for decent self-tie ties, I cringe at the cost. Are there any…Continue

Bow tie fraying

Started by B.A. Poskin. Last reply by Kevin Domingue Jan 16. 13 Replies

Morning Gentlemen! So, I've been wearing the bow tie. I really dig it. One thing I've noticed is a little bit of fraying on the tops of the bow. My only guess is that it's caused by my coarse facial…Continue

I've recently started wearing the bow tie. I've tried in the past, just wasn't sure how or with what.  After doing some research, I've come to the conclusion that one can put one just about anything.…Continue

I have made the vow to wear a bow tie once a week, if for no other reason than I don't want to forget how to tie one. And once I week, I get compliments for wearing one. We are the vanguards of fashion, gentlemen.

Thanks for the reminder Tom.  I wasn't aware of the holiday and will try to find some way of wearing a bow tie tomorrow, even if it is to the gym only.

It's been pretty quiet in here lately, but I thought I'd stop by and remind those in the U.S. that tomorrow, August 28 is National Bow Tie Day..........

Yes, a bowtie is neat and, especially for me, is out of reach of the strangling-grip of my toddler grandson.

Bowties give a splash of color which doesn't always have to be coordinated with whatever else one is wearing.

Lastly, as I've written before, when a long tie is loosened it means that the party is over, but when a bowtie is loosened it means the party is just beginning!
