What influenced you to become libertarian?

For me it was a college history teacher who presented the libertarian principles of the founders, and subsequently recommended to me a steady diet of Rothbard, Heyek, and Heinlein. What about y'all?Continue

Is this for the party or the ideology?

Comment by Scott Bein on October 22, 2013 at 9:06pm
The modern libertarian movement should structure itself around the proposition of strict interpretation and application of the constitution. Neither main stream party will do this. We must sell the idea that freedom is guaranteed by the people and not governmental agency with it's overly intrusive laws.

Libertarian/conservative here. I don't care too much where guys stick their dicks, or chicks can't keep legs closed, or other choices they make. Just don't make rest of us pay for it.

I never really got into Reddit.  Maybe we can get some things moving here.

I agree. Most my Libertarian outlet is on Reddit.

We should get this group moving again.

Can't believe this group hasn't had more activity as of late.   What with NDAA, SOPA/PIPA and what not.

Huh! Guess everyone is busy campaigning for Ron Paul.

New discussion topic.   Okay how about the possibility of a UN small arms trade treaty?   What say you?   It is said that this will only cover the arms trade on a military level but there are just so many firearms that could possibly fall into this category (Springfield XDm, Glock, Beretta 92 for instance) that I can't see how this wouldn't have some type of effect on the civilian firearms market.   I for one believe that the UN should be kicked out and we should be done with them.

Hello to all of my fellow freedom lovers.   Although I am not a card carrying member of the Libertarian Party (we don't register by party in my state) I have seen the light.   It has taken me a while but I have finally realized that if we keep putting the same types of people in office as we have for the last twenty or so years absolutely nothing will change.

Christmas Traditions

This year we went into the mountains and cut down our own Christmas tree. This has been a fun tradition, everything from getting up @3:00am to go get the permit to getting stuck in the snow and have to rely on shovels, sweat, ingenuity, and kind strangers to get unstuck. What are some of the other Christmas traditions y'all enjoy?
