Anyone like Bossa Nova?  This was a very popular fusion of Jazz and Samba back in the 60s and I have fallen hard for this music. I like Astrud Gilberto (the girl from Ipanema, The Shadow of your…Continue

Has anyone listened to the Quartet San Fancisico Plays Brubeck? I am learning about jazz, and dig Brubeck. It is interesting to hear a string quartet cover him.

I just recently deepened my interest in Jazz and I've been listening to, non stop. What's your favorite station over there?

Love this performance by Anita O'Day at Newport.

Lately I've been spending my early Saturday evenings listening to John Pizzarelli's Radio Deluxe on our local jazz station. I have to say I really like his eclectic and broad taste in jazz. Anyone else listen to this broadcast?

From the Newport 1958 album. Recently acquired this album and can't get enough of this track!

I just love jazz on Sunday afternoons like most South Africans. Thank you for acceptance to the group.

OK, so, the wife and I are planning a trip to NYC later on this year.  She wants to do the whole Late Night TV thing (Letterman, SNL, like that) and Broadway.  I have a couple of things I want to do myself, so, anyone from the Apple who is in the know in this group, I'd appreciate any help you can offer.  A) How difficult is it to get into the Jazz at Lincoln Center complex?  Do I need to order tickets ahead of the trip, or can I pick up good seats by walking up to the box office? Also B) How prevalent are jazz shows outside that complex, is there a certain section of town I need to go to, like 52nd Street used to be, or, is it just no longer there?  Any help is appreciated.
