GoRuck Challenge OKC

Information

About

This group is for men who are participating in the GoRuck Challenge in OKC on November 24, 2012. I (Brett McKay) am taking part in the 10 PM Race.

We'd love to have a big AoM representation at this event. Please sign up at GoRuck's site. Come race under the AoM Banner. The more the merrier.

Join me here in this group to share your training and mental preparation for this physically daunting challenge. I'll be sharing training tips straight from the folks at GoRuck in the discussion forum.

By the way... the GoRuck challenge isn't just for men. Many many many tough ladies take and conquer the challenge as well.

Did the challenge on Nov 2 here in TN. It was awesome and brutal at the exact same time. It will be as easy and as hard as you expect it to be. Physical training definitely helps but you can't prepare for the mental stress that will be included. Main thing is to become comfortable with becoming uncomfortable and to use their words embrace the suck. The best part is that when you complete this you become a part of a great community of people that have all been through the same hell and would love to do it all over again. My class was GRT class 303 and we had Cadre Carlos as our bringer of pain and teacher of life's hard truths that night. There was pain, camraderie, pain, injuries, bricks, pain, beer, pain, smurfjacks, hunger games, pain, and good living. If you still have no clue what I am talking about Google that $h_t or better yet sign up for an upcoming GoRuck class.

"I disagree that ethics necessarily reflect morals. Virtues, maybe. But manners and ethics are social constructs, not moral ones. Morals *may* come into play, but are not necessarily part of the equation. "

"I would disagree about manners. Manners are a subset of ethics, therefore ultimately morals and virtues will come into play."
