Anyone a Skype user ?

what do you mainly use it for ? I mainly use it for IM'ing friends but also have used it for phone and video calls. It's a great app. It should be interesting to see what the future holds as Skype goes independent (no longer part of eBay).

I use Skype mainly to make international calls...much cheaper.

Cheers
Try Google Voice. You can call from any phone through your Google Voice number and still talk for pennies on the dollar.
I use it a lot to chat with friends and show the kids to the grandparents. They always get a kick out of seeing the kids and the kids love seeing their Grandma.
I used Skype to call my parents when on a family vacation. They could see the room, and how much the kids were enjoying themselves. It was much better than a phone call, and free since the room came with free wifi. Since then we havn't used it much. I have a smartphone (running android) and am waiting for a good skype app to come out. Once that is out it will be much better.

As with Hugh, our kids sometimes can't go over to see my parents (when my mother has chemo, kids can't visit), so we can skype for events they can't be at.
I've used it for the same purposes as everyone else seems to have done. The cousins all love seeing each other and their grandparents, so we try to use it for that as much as we can.
I've used it a couple of times over Christmas this year, so my folks could see the grandkids and talk to them "face-to-face." I know they use it a lot to talk to my brother over in Japan.
I run it but rarely use it. None of my friends use it.
I use Skype with my friend Mike Snyder to create the podcast SocIT. Our site is http://socitpodcast.wordpress.com . We have recorded 2 of the podcasts so far, with many more to come. Keep an eye open if you sound interested and feel free to comment on the blog.

Oh, Did I mention that I love Skype? If you want to chat, have some ideas you care to share, or what have you my handle is john.r.davis.jr
I use Skype daily to video conference my family while they are visiting relative in Ukraine; I also talk with friends in Thailand, England, Russia, China, and Egypt with it....all free as they are Skype users. Their paid service to call phones is great as well - you can also share screens, send text messages.

Very useful tool!
Me, me, me!
Being in college in a country where the phone companies rip you off, I use it to call my mom in the other coast. However, we don't have webcams so we haven't tried the videophone features yet.
I hope one day I can get my hands on a droid and use Skype on it. But it will be in a long time.
i have skype although it has never been used. I primarily use Google Voice. I find that to be great as it allows me to call and receive calls for free to any mobile or land phone in the US and Canada. Plus, it has some great features to connect your phones to a single number, personal voice mails, and a lot more.

I use it mostly for calling in to an internet radio show at radioplaystation.com. It's a good show and loads of fun in the on site chat. where we dance to music on camera. to call in on the air, they have it set up with Skype, so I do that every show I can make it to. If you like gaming and don't care who sees that you can't dance, come on over to the site during a show. You'll have fun, I promise.

My username is SuperDork42 on there, so If you do come, say hi if I'm there.

Christian Men

Regardless of the specifics, we can all agree on one thing. Jesus Christ was the perfect Man who died and rose again for us such that we could have fellowship with Him
