Just got a Parker 45. When I fill the pen all I have to do is squeeze the cartridge and fill it with ink; very easy and it works like a dream. What is this filling system called?

The 45 was Parker's first cartridge fountain pen. It was also available with a screw-piston converter. Looks like yours has been fitted with some kind of "Aero-metric-ish" converter, similar to the Parker 51.

Yup, aerometric was the generic term for those. You will love the 45

Thanks for the info. I do love this pen and just got at Parker 21 for cheap as well. Looking forward to getting that one in the mail

Some will say it's blasphemy, but I much prefer the 45 to the 51!

"Interesting.  I consider this more a Brett decision than a Liam & Sir decision.  (Partly because we don't have the power to do it.)"

"I'm not sure, possibly. But even so a call would have to be made on each group individually - and that gets pretty arbitrary. "
