Was out early this morning fishing for coho salmon off the ocean beach on a low tide. Didn't catch anything though- it was my first serious salmon fishing trip. Beach was already fairly busy when I got there (~5:30 am) however action was overall slow-saw only 2 guys with fish. It's still early in the season for them and the fish are expected to pile up near the river mouth in the coming weeks as the water level remains low during the dry summer weather.

Went up to Upper Michigan this past weekend with my Dad, caught some Pike, Walleye, Bass and Bluegill...always good times with the old man!

Hoping the rain stays away on Saturday. We are planning on hitting the surf for sunrise then take the kayak out into the bay

The Smallmouths are going crazy right now on Lake Huron! On my way back up this weekend for opening day.

FINALLY, after working 60-70 hours a week, I get to go fishing for the first time this year. I only caught a small 4-5 pound channel cat, but it was wonderful just to finally be out fishing this year...

Here are two of the three walleye I caught during opener weekend this year. The first one is a 20" fish and the second one is 23".

Both were put back because they were not in the slot limit on the lake I was fishing on. Both fish were caught on lindy rigs with a plain hook and a leech.

"Along these lines: I also just bought a double-sided one (Van Huessen or something like that). How many uses should I expect for each blade, if I'm rather even with each side?"
