He really was an icon. A sweet soul and oh so funny! The movies he made with Richard Pryor, lol.

He will be sorely missed.

Rest in peace, Gene Wilder.

A theater in town is showing "Rear Window" this week.  I've seen twice at the theater and would love to see it again, but am going out of town.  It's always good to see Grace Kelly on the big screen.

Sadly, another great one has passed away.

George Kennedy, 91, died Sunday morning due to "old age and some health issues". Read more here.

One of his better known roles from Cool Hand Luke. Personally, I loved him best in Earthquake and Naked Gun.

May he rest in peace.

Abe Vigoda passed away this morning. He was 94.

I remember him as Fish on Barney Miller. That was a great show. And he was great on it. I vaguely recall posting a conversation between him and his wife several years ago that was very funny. Anyway...

Rest in peace, sweet Fish.

Has anyone seen this film? I really enjoyed it:

I'm sure it's been mentioned in the past, however I'm fairly new to the community. I heard on radio this morn about the lack of real tough guy actors in hollywood today. Just thining bout it some of the past actors like charles bronson, who not only looked tough n strong (before being ripped and strong was essential in action actors he was at the fore front eg look at clips of run of the arrow). He was the real deal with his background. There were other too ie. Lee Marvin Audey murphy (sp?), bruce lee, chuck norris. Who do you think are the modern day versions (if any) who have all show and go (instead of all show and no go)?

Just watched this pre-code gem. Baby Face is a great 1933 drama about a woman who sleeps her way up the ladder. Pretty interesting stuff for its time. Here's a clip:

The Great Debate

"Iron sharpens iron." A place for men to impact each other by debate and exchange of ideas. This is a group where no ideas are off limits. If your motto is, "I never talk about politics or religion," this group is probably not for you. A "gym" for thinkers.See More

Hike on Saturday

I love hiking.  I usually go alone, or with my dog.  The solitude and peace "up there" is, for me, unmatched in the world. Here's a GoPro video link if you want to follow me along. Warning: It is 20 minutes long and 3GB.https://www.dropbox.com/s/8vz5u717yr8u03e/South%20Mountain%20%282017%29.mp4?dl=0See More

Relatively new here; thought I'd say hello

Hello men,I'm not new to Art of Manliness, but I am new to the community. I thought I'd take the time to introduce myself. I'm almost 30, married for just over a year, and we have our first child on the way. I'm Mormon. I worked for five years sewing men's clothing, which is perfectly fine as a manly career in my opinion, but it was a dead-end job ultimately, so I quit and became an electrician. I'm still in my first year as an apprentice, but I'm very happy doing it. Before that, I was…See More

"My wife likes my hair tamed, but she doesn't want me to get rid of any of it entirely. She likes the look of hair on a man. I'd say don't shave, and unless your pit hair is really out of control, don't trim it either. "
