Any Fans of Swingin' Drummers?

Started by Alexander Benjamin Hays. Last reply by Gus Parker Feb 6, 2014. 1 Reply

I am merely using this as a poll to find out who likes the drummin' side of swing. If you pick out the drummers more than others, let me know! And, while you're at it, who's your favorite?

Need some help with a song.

I live in Seattle where there is a terrific radio program called 'Swing Years and Beyond'. It is a five hour show of music from the 1920s throug the 1950s. Each week's show is posted online: http://kuow.org/swingyears

The Rat Pack for me sum up different ideas of what it is to be manly.
There is so much difference in both singing voice and personal style for the members of the rat pack.

Bing is amazing. Lately I've been listening to a lot of Sammy. He's my second favorite member of the Rat Pack.

No problem, Sean. I've got a buddy who can't stand Sinatra. Dean Martin is my favorite of them all.

I'm a big fan of singers such as Frank Sinatra, Dean Martin, Sammy Davis Jr., Bing Crosby, Nat King Cole, etc.

I found a disk in a small store that has recordings from the Rat Pack's concert in the Summit ()

It is one of my better finds when I go Clearence sale shopping.

Hey everybody, I've recently gotten into jazz music and I've really come to appreciate it. So far I've gotten two albums: Kind of Blue by Miles Davis and A Love Supreme by John Coltrane. I'm enjoying these two albums, and I hope to add to my collection.

"She did, after all, remain with you rather than him. Therefore, try not to project intent behind actions until you gather more info."

"Mongoose, you have a point. I did wonder about a message she sent me later after she left which said: 'i never question you, but sometimes I just need to know you love me', which seemed a bit cryptic at the time but did get me thinking. I…"
