@ Peter Nuar

Good sir, I merely live in the good Archbishop designate's current Sees (He has responsibilities for both the Diocese of San Francisco and the Diocese of Oakland.)  I've actually met the man (albeit quite briefly), and he is definitely a more conservative churchman than either of his predecessors in Oakland and San Francisco.

The point I attempted make was that the new Bishop in one of the hotbeds of sexual and social "Progressivism" is a publically announced and involved conservative on many issues, including homosexuality and the idea of gay marriage.

Bishop Cordileone has a different style than Archbishop Emeritus Niederauer.  Bishop Cordileone as Archbishop has the potential for some quite interesting interactions between a conservative churchman and a batch of "progressive" politicos.

"The new Archbishop of San Francisco, CA is merely one of the big players in the pro-Prop 8 and anti HHS mandate camps."

Merely?? um, you should get outside the lamestream media every once in a while. Besides being last week's news, it's highly tendentious, as Archbishop Niederauer takes all sorts of other positions, surprisingly in line with a traditional understanding of the human person </end sarc>

Stand by for the apocalypse!  The new Archbishop of San Francisco, CA is merely one of the big players in the pro-Prop 8 and anti HHS mandate camps.

This has the potential to make the whole "Chik-fil-A is Anti-gay" flap look like a muffled cluck.

Nick,

Been here for a while.  All is well, as I hope it is with you.

How did I know that I would find you here, Native Son.  Hope all is well.  Ad maiorem Dei gloriam.

If anyone wants to have some fun, or maybe set off an apoplectic fit, go over to the Christian Men group.  Check out the silliness on "Are Catholics Christians?"  I'll fess up to having thrown a few replies into that thread.

Christ is Risen! Indeed He has risen!

Just woke up having returned from Easter Liturgy (got home around 4:00am).

We're heading off to the Easter Vigil.

Happy Easter!  Alleluia He is Risen!

Timothy, I am not familiar with that organization, but it looks like they are doing some good work.

I have just discovered this organization that helps turn boys into Catholic Men.  Has anyone had any experiences with them? Worth a look.

Re-finished haft

sanded, cleaned up, poly and paint at ends (not grip area), and sharpened up for the start of camping season. Almost looks like a new axe!
