Comment by vin pen on April 10, 2013 at 12:02pm Brewing is not very popular here in Bulgaria, In fact I can't remember having heard anyone did that. Wine making though is a 'whole new beer' as we say. A man who doesn't make his own wine and grape brandy is considered to miss some great opportunities. There's nothing more manly to gather a large family at the Christmas table and to serve your own wine. To hear the comments, congratulations and feel other men envy - priceless ...
Last year I went to another level ordering my own, customized wine labels. Needless to say - it was the hit of the Christmas and New year Parties.
Comment by Netza R. on April 5, 2013 at 7:26pm I started brewing about two years ago. I participated in a beer festival in ensenada, b.c. where I served my homebrewed IPA, red IPA/imperial red, ESB, pale ale and a belgian brown (which honestly I didn´t care that much for but many people seemed to enjoy, the rest I loved)... I don´t grow hops because the whether here is not suited for it (about 100-115° F in the summers) but all of us get our supplies and ingredients from the states, particularly san diego. Homebrewing and craft beer is just starting to take off here and we´ve been trying non-stop to create awareness of what beer can be, surprisingly many people are catching on. Especially when we combine it with the culinary, art and music scene it´s creating a lot of attention. As we speak my city of Mexicali is hosting the Baja Prog, a progressive rock event with music and local beer. Just last night I saw Crimson Projekct (ex-king crimson members adrian belew, tony levin and pat mastelotto with three other guys) and before that Steve Hackett
Comment by George H on April 5, 2013 at 6:07pm Been a home brewer for 20+ years, mostly extract brewing. My son is heavy into all grain brewing and puts me to shame. We grow our own hops- Cascade, Spaalt, Kent Goldings. My last batch was an Irish Stout and before that a double IPA.
Comment by Clifford on January 4, 2013 at 3:18am ok question I have heard of people adding hops to their mead for improved drinkabillity what are you gentlemans stances on this?
Comment by Clifford on January 4, 2013 at 2:55am I have just started brewing. So far I have made 1 ale 2 different wines and a 5 gallon batch of mead. My next project is I just got a 55gallon plastic drum and intend on making a big batch of mead. Wish me luck!

Comment by Blade Scott Handler on December 16, 2012 at 8:10am Hello everyone! I'm Blade, and I just got into brewing through experimental anthropology/archaeology at the University that I attend. Really enjoying it as a hobby now, just trying to afford some personal equipment. I really enjoy making mead's and dark beers. Can anyone suggest a good place to buy brewing supplies?
Comment by Daniel T. on November 26, 2012 at 3:17am How did you prime it? Did you use tabs or sugar? If sugar, did you stir it in evenly in the bottling bucket?
Comment by steve on November 26, 2012 at 2:26am Just brewed my first batch of beer. I brewed an IPA, and have been met with very mixed results. About 50% of the bottles taste like the IPA I set out to brew, with good taste, and flavor. The other 50% taste very malty and sugary, and it is very carbonated.
Has anyone had this experience? Any ideas, tips, suggestions?
Thanks.
Comment by Daniel T. on November 25, 2012 at 11:23pm Anyone here interested in designing an AoM beer? We could create a recipe, then all brew it and see what happens!
