What do you men think? Is it the full beard, moustache, or something else?
I would have to say, BEARD!
Probably a well kept Handlebar - but for personal reasons I have to say FULL BEARD ;-)}}}
Thanks for your thoughts, men. Keep them coming.
I agree with you guys. I also think mutton chops and a circle beard (goatee and moustache) could qualify.
I started my mustache in 1969 when I graduated from college and joined the National Guard. They allowed mustaches but not full beards. When I finished my 6 year obligation in 1975 I grew my full beard and have worn a full beard ever since. Recently my son sent me a "gag" gift for Father's Day of the book "Beard" and some mustache wax. I have started working on my handlebar as a result.
I liked one quote in the book Beard: This is my real face, this is what I look like if I don't do anything to it.
BTW, I highly recommend the book "Beard" by Matthew Rainwaters. It is a series of full face photos of men that were competing in the International Beard Competition in Anchorage Alaska in 2009. Some very interesting beards and combinations.
Thanks for the book recommendation. My dad was drafted in the Army in '70 and grew a mustache just like you did. He and a bunch of guys did it just because they could. But dad kept his for thirty years or so. Shaved it when it started turning white. Around the time he shaved, I was in college and able to start doing what I wanted with my facial hair. Grew a beard then and have kept it since. That was the mid to late '90s.
I'd say circle beard...only cuz it takes me forever to grow a full one.
Work with what you have, right Brian :) I like a circle beard a lot.
That's right Dennard...and a lotta patience!
A round and full beard, of course.
I think it depends how it looks when its grown. I would say grow a full beard first, then see if you want to trim it down or not. Like many things, facial hair is experimental. That is the beauty of it.
