Hello all,

I was wondering if any of you gentlemen knew of any good hammams in the UK. I had the opportunity to visit Istanbul back in 2012, but missed out on the hammam experience (if you haven't been, Istanbul is great!) Though I intend on going back, with that as a priority, I am trying to get used to the experience in a country where most men speak my language.

I don't know anything about hammams in London, but this webpage, Victorian Turkish Baths, might give you some good suggestions.  The website is a labor of love and contains some great information on hammams in England and their history.

Harrogate has a super one although it is many years since I was there, there was one in London called Ironmongers Row and also the Porchester spa also in London but I'm not sure about men only days etc but I assume they have websites.

checked out the Harrogate website and they don't have any men only days any more which rather spoils the good of it

So I've started a martial arts club...

So me and a group of friends have started an amateur Bartitsu society and we're pretty much teaching ourselves the martial art among elements of other fighting styles. While not ideal we're doing well, perfecting the techniques. I organise the activities and exercises and try to explain the basics of the technique from the instruction book.I was just wondering if anyone else has done something similar to this? If so do you have any tips of running these sort of clubs or interesting stories of…See More
