I have a Nikon D70S that my wife and I have used to capture Gigs unpon Gigs worth of portrait and family photos. I also use a Nikon CoolPix for quick carry photo ops. I hope to get a D300S for myself soon as the wife hogs the D70s.
I owned a Canon EOS 350D some years ago and used it daily the first couple weeks. Then I started to leave it at home when going out because it felt so big and awkward to carry with me. I sold it to my brother and he's barely used it.
I want a small, easy-to-carry camera that I can take with me anywhere I go. I just love the look of the Leica cameras, my dream would be to own a Leica M9, or an analog Leica for that matter.
I will probably settle for a Canon though, it will take a while before I can afford the $8,000 price tag that the Leica M9 has here in Sweden.
Here's my cache in order of favoritism:
(Primary Camera) Graflex Speed Graphic with a modern Schneider 150mm f/5.6 lens.
Fuji 6x7 Rangefinder
Hasselblad 500CM with 80mm C T* f/2.8
Nikon F5
Nikon D300 (easily the least used)
I think that film, especially the 4x5 stocks, have a quality and an unbending holiness to them that digital can't even breathe the same airspace as yet.
Two Ricoh KR-5 Super II's with a few lenses each
One Yashica MAT-124
One SINAR-F View Camera with a 150mm Schneider
and for Digital and Pentax K100D with 18-55 and a Promaster 100mm Macro lens
I sell cameras for a living, and I get along just fine with this equipment for personal use.
