Hi All

I have a man cave ( a 12 x 12 room) in my basement that is set up for study and rod building and is currently one hell of a mess I will never try to make it a place for a group to hang out it is just the only 144 square feet I can call my own. To me a Mancave is more a study or private space than one for gatherings.  Now that I have found this page Ill get my ass in gear, put on some finishing touches and post some photos.

Hi All,

My man cave is the 2 car garage that my fiance and I rent. I smoke my cigars and pipes out there, drink my bourbon, watch movies and contemplate ending world hunger. It's drafty and cobweby, with cracked concreete floors and the original insulation, none. As its a rental, I haven't done too much to it and the landlord isn't willing to pay for anything, so one day, I'll have a designed and built man cave, but this will do for now!

Give me a few years.. -I'd better start putting away more cash. Maybe before then I could scan the rendering I sketched up of my "perfect man room". I'll give away one detail, it includes my own personal commode! haha T.M.I.?

Well Zach, let us see it when it's finished. Sounds good so far!

This group rocks! Just a few days ago I sketched up what I hope my future "man room" looks like. I've always dreamed of having a hidden-door enterence to my man cave, like the moving bookcase and what not.. Just to emphasize the privacy of the room. I know it's a little far fetched, and I might have to have it put into a prenumptual agreement to get it approved by my girlfriend..

I haven't been able to keep up with them. My schedule has been to hectic. Will go back and check 'em out. Thanks Native.

Anyone care to comment on the two recent discussions on the Main AoM page? One discussion at least started as a provactive discussion of the "popular concept" of the Man Cave. The other asked for comments on a "commercial" website. Some interesting takes, and some extremely forthright opinions expressed.

I was finally able to post a pictue of my man-cave on My Page, so you may want to click and take a look. I don't seem to be sufficiently tecno-savvy to bring it here, or I would...

I was lucky enough to sort out the privacy issue before we moved into our house. She has a wonderful parlour on the second floor with a two-story plant room, and I was lucky enough to bargain for, and build, a library/office for 2,000 books, the most comfortable napping couch ever, a huge desk, a couple of deep leather club-chairs with excellent reading lights, and a flat-screen TV ---- all without an influence from the feminine contingent whatsoever.

Indeed, I kinda thought I might have the coolest man-cave imaginable until a friend and client recently bought a 44,000 sq. ft. warehouse in a nearby town -- and under the name Man Cave, LLC, no less...

Been lurking for quite a while, finally joined this group. I'm a "have not", something about the second child needing his own room about 7 years ago. But I can dream. And until the kids graduate from college (or we win the Lottery)... Early 1950's SF Bay Area suburban house. No attic, no basement, darned small garage (aka laundry room & pantry).

Casual Belts for Jeans?

Is there a rule to follow for wearing belts for jeans? I understand that casual belts can have bigger buckles and I am fond of a belt with a bigger buckle. Can anyone recommend any good belts for jeans? The belts I currently have are geared more for dress clothes. I was at TJ Maxx and saw some belts from LaCrosse and Ralph Polo for only $20. I was not sure if those belts were for dress pants specifically. See More
