I have been playing the DATA BOXING board game for 30-odd years (I also play the computerized version which is set up similarly to the board game.) DATA BOXING is a scientific simulation of boxing where boxers of all eras are matched. It is based on decades of research by the game designer, the late Dr. Julian Compton, who was a professor at Florida A&M. Using the detailed, realistic and historical DATA BOXING sports simulation program, it's as if my favorite boxers are back in the ring again! Through this pastime, I learn about the history of boxing and study the records of my favorite boxer's lives to deduce life lessons and connect boxing history to life.

In the 1980 edition of the board game, the late Dr. Julian Compton wrote: Data Boxing is one of the most detailed and accurate sports games you can play. It is a game you can play for a lifetime.

Indeed, this game continues to give me enjoyment and it has been educational as well. What would I have done without DATA BOXING!
