Sorry, man, I misread. Normally Red Wing boots (at least from their Heritage line) run large; interesting that it's the opposite with yours.

l think you no understand my statement .

l ordered a 9 , a 9 is what fits me in most brands . the red setters are to short and my big toe hits the end therefore they run smaller sizes than most .

so how will extra socks help ?

Well Brian, you could wear 2 pairs of socks or 1 pair of thick hiking socks. ;-)

So the red wing work boots run a size small , costly mistake as its just not feasible to send them back for an exchange .

My brother however will enjoy his new free boots .

Since mid-summer I have been wearing these Haix Airpower 100's to work. I work a 7-Day Tour, 12hrs a shift.  A major problem I have with boots is heat...My feet get too warm and sweat and ruin my boots weeks after purchasing...My Haix boots have Sunreflect, which reflects the heat and the boots themselves are extra breathable, they still smell relatively new. They will take a polish, but working on a mine site, there is zero use in polishing them, especially in the winter where sand/salt are concerned. Off duty, I wear a pair of steel-toed boots similar to those Redwings in Dave's post.

Just gotta show off the new boots I got while in Oklahoma last week . . . .

The brand is Red Wing; the style is 2231.

they were new Timothy , but thew were made by a company that has been making them for over 100 years here in Australia , the bomber was made by lostworlds out of NY , thanks for the compliment , l treasure the craftsmanship that has gone into them .

Brian those are BAD!! Are they vintage? Also like the old bomber!

"What I learned from this thread is that people spell asafoetida "acifidity" -- that is, they don't just pronounce it that way. I'm no expert, but I think if you put asafoetida in a bag, you've got an acifidity bag.…"

"No, asafoetida is just the main ingredient in a small pouch worn around the neck, called acifidity bags by old timers. Google it, and you'll seem some interesting anecdotes about them."
