Eric - much depends on your location. In the US, may good liquor stores now carry a variety of absinthes (ranging from terrible to quite good). The best ones are still only to be had ordered from europe, but as a starting point on US Absinthes, I would look for Lucid, Sirene, and St. Georges.

while i am currently under age i want to try it when i am of age to drink. does anyone know of a good store in the USA to find the proper stuff to prepare and drink this eclectic beverage

I am glad to know this group exists.
A great cocktail evening is not complete for me unless I have had a Bohemian style class of absinthe.

Good lord, it's been a while since I last sampled Absinthe. I somehow broke my front door and fed the dog some vomit. I have abstained since then!

mmmm, the lime to dark geen color as you pour it, the sharp anise scent, the only drink that truely should only have one mode of serving, not shots, on the rocks or mixed, slow drip ice water, over sugar mmmmmmmm

i just had the US release of the Kubler Blanche not bad louche and a good rounded flavor
