Your favorite gun? (Besides the ones stuck to your arms ;))

If you've never shot a gun, shame on you.

Haha.

Remember the old days where people would carry a firearm and/or a blade of some sort?

(The old western days where you'd have a revolver strapped to your side? Easterners would carry a samurai sword or long knife? Foresters would carry machetes?)

We've come a long way and it's sad to know that these days we associate guns with the violence and death of so many.

I still believe that guns are a perfect means for protection and sport.

In particular, my favorite gun is:

Colt 1911

The link above shows a special designed model of the colt 1911.

It's a handgun and I'd much prefer this to a rifle. I've never gone hunting and I don't think semi-automatics really attract me.

That said. This is my pick. What's yours?

scope and mount is in the mail, want to suppress it but the paper work and wait is a drag.lets see if I can creep and scout a deer haha, see how close i can get.

Isn't that 7.62 X 54 mm Moss Nagant? You can't really do much to suppress that round with an attachement even the best military ones. This is a true hgh powered rilfe round same as used the gas operated SVD sniper rifle.Obsolette cartridge when the SVD in late 60's was made but used for it proven accuracy.

I'm a shotgunner. I love my Stoger Uplander. It's a side by side double 12 with 28 inch barrels, interchangeable chokes and double triggers. The extra weight up front is a big help with follow through and I have this notion that I might be as good as some of the old timers and be able to choose which barrel i fire first depending on whether the bird is incoming or going away. For me there is nothing quite like a day afield behind a good dog.

Dam pal, that's just how I feel about ridng my 1972 or my 1984 Harley. A deeply spirtual and connected to life expereince.I also grasp the skill with double bbl you speak off, I am old guy (in great shape but 62) and its a lost art I think to some extent.

Gotta a 07 Dyna Custom and know exactly what you mean.

But my rifle of choice is my Marlin 30-30 336c, on my side I have a Para Ordanance P13.45, split hairs with that one, and we once discussed the concealed carry option of the Sig P238 great quality, reliable, point and shoot to about 10 yds.

Isn’t that Marlin the gun that actually won the west? I know many think of the Winchester but the marlin was a much more user friendly arm.

This is not my rifle but a image off the internet that is very similar, I am not sure about winning the west, but in the woods... deer, hog, small game, even the two legged varity is all mine with this, got the over under sites so you can use the scope or the iron sites up close and bang its dead. And I can not remember a miss fire or a jam.

As for the bike Quinn, the only thought I have is no questions, no answers just me and the breeze on my mind.

And I like the old shovelheads as well, something about the carborated sound, and the kick start to make a great bike. The electronic fuel injection has lost some of that as has the electric start, if you have a problem you almost need a computer to tell you whats wrong.

Nice bike pal! I especially like the brown leather saddlebags too! This is me on my 1972 shovelehad in Colorado!

My M1 Carbine. I feel like I could fight a small army off with it. I'm obviously out of my damn mind, but it gives me that feeling nonetheless.

Has anyone shot these rounds?

Dragon's Breath Rounds - Youtube Video

Considering they are illegal in most countries because, well, they are pretty damn awful to be hit by, I doubt it.

They are gimmick really  make an imprssive display at night, but i'd rather be shot with Dragon's Breath for sure than 00 buck shot.

And as far as being illegal in some states so are machineguns and silencers but not here in Colorado. I have a licensed sub machinegun and paid the one time Federal $200 transfer tax etc. Its all legal if you do the paperwork and live in a state that allows Class 3 weapons (full auots, silencers short barrled shotguns etc)
