I don't let broken bones or torn soft tissue top me from playing in the woods. The doctors told me not to and I'd just aggrivate the injury.  Here's some photos from my latest recce run away from the trails:

Caption: Vantage point number one. Throughout the day I slowly worked my down into the valley, which involved a small 30ish foot free climb to get in and out.

Caption: Follow the stream to the lower elevation. Water always flows down hill. Note the brown color is not from sediment, but rather the high iron content of the water in the area.

More to come as soon as my phone uploads them.

Wonderful.

Caption: It might not look like it, but I've descended about 300 feet in elevation from the last vantage point. If you look towards the top left, you will see some rock outcropings. That was the best bet to get down and back up without ropes. First person perspective in the next photo.

this is awesome.  thanks for sharing.  my favorite place is to be in the woods, ESPECIALLY when the woods are in mountains.

where's this at?

This really isn't that mountainous. I personally consider it foothills, it's just got more terrian characteristics of a gorge.

I was on a weird mix of public WMA land and unmarked private property that was near Savage Gulf.

I would love to be on a hike right now.

You should never give up a passion.  Not unless it is for something greater.

Here is an interesting article that you may enjoy.

Need girl advice

I'm sorry this is so long, but I need some serious advice about a girl.  This question is the sole reason I actually signed up, though I've been frequenting this site for years.  I have been dating this girl for six months.  Was dating, rather.  I just broke up with her yesterday.  You see, I'm madly in love with her, but I think it was just the wrong time for us to possibly work out.  I'm getting deployed in July and will be gone for almost a year.  She is going to Europe for two months…See More
