I apologise if this topic has been done before. If so, can someone please direct me to the previous discussion?

I saw an ad recently that was endeavoring to persuade me that some deodorant would have the same affect towards ladies as a man in uniform.
Strange pitch I know, but it got me wondering; why is it that some women are indeed attracted to guys in uniform?
I am not wodnering why are some attracted to it and why are some ladies not attracted to guys in uniform, rather why are they attracted to men in uniform at all?

I am in the New Zealand Army Reserves (which is a far cry from American defense) but with a population of 4 million you'll understand. Thus, when you are seen in uniform people do stare as it is a rare thing.
On our soldiers day though (ANZAC day) I found that the ladies appeared to want to be with the uniform more that the guys, as though they were thinking 'I want to hang with a soldier tonight' rather than any particular one.
So if soldiers are just one of a series to some, why is it attractive?

Furthermore, which uniforms do you think women find the most attractive?
(not just sexually but emotionally)

And what is it about being in uniform that they enjoy? It seems almost an instinctive reaction in that they at least turn their heads, why is this so?

Uniforms almost always fit and are almost always clean. They are hardly ever bad fads. And, like Nathanael says, the ones we're talking about are tailored (again, properly tailored). My guess is there's not much difference in women's reactions between a classic, well-tailored suit or tuxedo, assuming it's appropriate for the occasion, and the classic, well-tailored uniform. The problem is, uniforms are appropriate for more occasions than suits.

Marine dress blues man. we just look damn good. we are usually in excellant physical condition. and we are cocky sonsabitches. we dont give a fuck about political correctness. and we are all certin we are the best in the world. we are sure of ourselves, and we carry our selves with a certin swagger that no man that was never in the military can understand.

Missing my best friend

My father passed away on Memorial Day this year.  The entire family was at his house for one of his traditional cookouts by the pool.  There was always plenty of food, drinks, laughter, and memories at his cookouts. This day was no different with one major exception, dad wasn't feeling that well and didn't even get out of bed until mid morning.   As I am the oldest son, I was always the one groomed to step up and take over if dad was ever unavailable (which was rare).   I got to their house…See More
