Good question. Well I could right a whole sermon on the matter. But to just highlight things I'll be more brief.
I come from an Italian family. Back before Italy was a state, there were only provinces. A man from the country was not an "Italian", he was a Christian first then the province where he came from second. So really that's a taking off point for me. I'm Catholic just like my ancestors were and I keep the Nicene creed and the commandments. I try to follow the road of Christ, and I know it's narrow, but it's the best way to live. I speak about the gospel not by words but by living my life day to day. I do my utmost best to be an example to others. There is nothing worse than a hypocrite, like when I say I'm waiting until marriage to have sex with my girlfriend, I'm not saying it to put on airs, I'm living a chaste life. There is a way to things a place for everything and everything in its place. Faith, Family, Country.

We have to be careful that the golden rule doesn't get watered down. Sometimes the way people say it makes it seem to much of individual honor. What I mean by that is people can sometimes take it their own way, sort of justify bad behavior or outlooks by fitting it only to themselves. Not saying you are or anything just noting an area of concern.

You've hit the nail on the head right there. People are not just, they justify, nor are people rational; people rationalize. They rationalize and justify their decisions and actions such that that is the only decision or action they could reach or have done. And before anyone goes off on me I do it as well but I am aware of what I am doing and why.

Justin---this is an EXCELLENT question---and I'm going to put some thought into it today before I answer. I will turn 50 in February, and I realized that I am pretty nebulous on what my own code is---I am going to do some thinking on this today and come back to this. Definitely worth a thorough thinking-through.

Good bourbon on a budget
My friends and fellow gentleman, i find my supply of liquid levity growing disturbingly low. Can any of you recommend a good bourbon at a decent price? For reference, i would consider up to $50 a "decent price". I do like a good scotch now and then, but i really am more of a bourbon drinker, straight up.
