What's the Manliest Book You Would Like to Read?
Hello guys. I was wondering what the manliest book/novel you've would like to read? Me, I like something with a lot of action or adventure in it, like a man's survival in the wilderness. Or a man's experience, like in a tough sport or a hunting trip. I wish there were more stuff like that.

Forty Miles in the Saddle, by Major Assburns. And looking for more, I Googled "funny book titles" and went to images... didn't expect NSFW! but be warned.

OK, this post should have a more serious answer.
One serious answer is Iron John: A Book About Men by Robert Bly. Male coming of age from the inside out.
Another serious answer is The Last American Man. But don't expect to be inspired: Eustace Conwy starts as a hero, but the cracks in his feet of clay, there from the beginning, get more and more troubling. Expect to be troubled.
I like some of Will Hobbs's YA novels, about a boy surviving in the wilderness. Hatchet by Gary Paulsen, similar theme, same age.
Robert Parker's "Spencer" novels, especially Early Autumn, which I found via recommendation here.
Thing is, we start w/ a hunger for manliness. But once you're into it... it becomes not a goal but a means to another goal: survival, prosperity, wholeness, taking care of others.

I've read The Hatchet once when I growing up, that was one of my favorites. And Iron John: A Book About Men sounds like a good book. I have to check that out.

+1 I read that too back in school, It was a really good book. I remember reading the sequel too.. it was pretty much the same thing but equally pleasing.
