I'm an early 30's guy who has to carry a blackberry for work. For some reason I can't let myself wear my phone with a belt clip. I just can't get past thinking it looks lame. So, I default to wearing it in my pocket which I hate equally as much. I've seen shoulder holsters, but I don't think you could wear that without looking like a tool.
Are there any other options? I carry a backpack, but that's not really an option when I'm working around the office. I need to have it near to hand if it rings. Cargo pants are not an option.

That's a neat way to handle that. Very good idea! I wonder if anyone makes a combination holster?
Combining holsters for IWB gun and OWB cell. Hmm...now you've got me thinking.

I was wondering where that smoke smell was coming from...

My military/PSC days are behind me, but at the very least, I still wear a pistol belt over my 2" underbelt and carry a Leatherman Surge, my phone (Samsung Galaxy Nexus) and my knife/flashlight combo. For a work knife, I carry a CRKT Ultima(fixed blade for durability and ease of use) in a sheath modified to sit higher on my hip, and keep a small LED flashlight in the outer pocket of the sheath. A Glock 27 is also part of my attire, so to me, the left hip is the best place to carry a cell phone.
Permalink Reply by Tyler G on March 27, 2012 at 3:52pm I agree with you, the belt clip is not a flattering look, particularly if you work in a professional office setting. I'd say wear a jacket and keep it in the breast pocket, that's what I do. I keep my wallet on one side of my jacket and my phone on the other. Alternatively, you could put it in the breast pocket of a shirt (if you have one) and wear a sweater. That would help to prevent it falling out if you bent over, but it isn't a sure thing.

Permalink Reply by Liam S. on February 8, 2013 at 12:52pm I have to carry two phones. Luckily I usually wear sportcoats at the office.
I have one in my front trouser pocket (my personal phone), and the work phone, I have in my jacket pocket in a pocket divider/holster that also holds a tactical flashlight and penknife. Keeps them convenient without rattling, or wearing a hole in the jacket liner.

The new Otterbox Defender's silicone layer doesn't grab the fabric like the old one did so it's easy to get in and out (if you don't wear skin-tight trousers). I used to put it in my front pocket but because I have all the antenna's active all the time I got to thinking about what I'm doing to my 'Family Jewels' with all that radio energy (basically cooking them).
Permalink Reply by L De Guzmán on February 12, 2013 at 9:07am I just carry mine in my satchel. I just get it out when I answer a call or when I need to send a text message. It helps so that I won't be glued to my phone all the time.
