My wife and I are having a Super Bowl party on Sunday, we invited some of our friends and some new friends from church.  My wife was teaching her Sunday school class and one of the mom's of the kids heard we were having a party and asked if she could come with her two sons ages 3 and 5.  My wife said that we would be glad to have her and said that that the woman's husband was invited too.  The woman then said that the reason she wanted to come was because her husband said that she and the boys had to be out of the house while he watched the Super Bowl because he didn't want to be distracted, so she was just looking for a place to spend a few hours.

.....WHAT A SELFISH ASSHOLE!  WHO THE HELL DO YOU THINK YOU ARE! TREATING YOUR WIFE AND SONS LIKE THAT!  YOU DON'T DESERVE TO HAVE THE PRIVILEGE OF HAVING A WIFE AND SONS!

What kind of man would be so disrespectful to his wife and would not want to spend time with his sons watching football.

Agreed. You should get together with about five other gentleman, head over to his place and whip his ass.
Agreed. Sounds like he could use an old fashioned "attitude adjustment."
One who's a total smacked ass moron. 'Nuff said.
What a DICKHEAD!!! And we wonder why families are so disfunctional. She's not abused is she?? He sounds a little controlling.
Well I think that you should have the wife and kids over. And skip the smack down. Now if his reception should happen to fail just for those hours. Well gosh that is a hard time for him........

Honestly all an "attitude adjustment" by force would simply cause ripple down pain on the wife and kids.
Have the wife and kids over, and let them know when she needs a place to be, anytime day or night your door is open. At some point she may decide she needs a few days break or to end the marriage, knowing that their are loving friends may give her power she does not feel she has.

Just a thought

"He obviously equates smoking with maturity, and sees tobacco as his rite-of-passage.  And he's emulating his male role models.   As an addict, you personally know the pleasures AND the pitfalls of smoking.  If he is choosing to…"

"Thanks for the post and the examples, Nick. You were right in pointing out that it's no use comparing one's self to others. And I like your father's saying. "
