Hello gentlemen.

I'm going to see how I look after my next visit to the barber, but purchasing a custom hairpiece is something that's emerged upon my horizon lately. I've been letting it go naturally, being certain to keep what I have neat, but I'm at the point now that the widow's peak is receding and a shorter haircut might be in order. I react strongly against that, though; having got a buzzcut when I was a boy, I thought it hideous and felt very insecure until it grew out again. Thus, it always needs to be long enough to be combed. I've been sporting a Roger Sterling in the meantime, but it's only a matter of time until that too is unfeasible.

No doubt, this is a difficult market to navigate, as I'm sure we've all seen some hideous rugs in our day. So I guess my question for those men who wear hairpieces (or at least those willing to admit to it), is what exactly are the better looking, more affordable systems? I know Farrell is well-renowned, but their cost is rather prohibitive. I am willing to travel to a metro area for consultation and I reside in the Northeast.

Thanks.

I have never heard anybody react to a toupée with anything but sniggering.  It's always a figure of fun.  I don't know if it's fair or right, but that's how it is.  You already posted on the "power donut" thread for other opinions on dealing with baldness.

I think though there was some tip about when you start talking to group of people you should not turn your front directly at them at first, instead you should wait for them to turn their front at you... don't know if this helps anyone remembering the…See More
