My Wrangler is rigged for dual MOLLE rifle/shotgun scabbards, one on each side. Works well for desert rides, or for forays into the deep forest. The scabbards unsnap in seconds and can be slung for when on foot.

Permalink Reply by Brian Splash on January 20, 2013 at 4:23pm I am not a gun owner and probably never will but so my choice of weapons might seem strange .

R.E.M its the end of the world as we know it
Hoka-hey ( its a good day to die )

You'd be better off with a pump gun, because it will can be loaded with any shot shells and function well.
Permalink Reply by Robert Brown on January 20, 2013 at 5:44pm Ok. main weapon of chioce: Shotgun. with a rifle it takes aim. something you may not have time to accomplish. As a Marine, i would like to say m-16, or M4. But I would stick with the shotgun. If you were with a partner have a rifleman. 2nd weapon? colt 1911. best handgun ever-made. (In my openion). Vehicle HMMV. it takes IED blasts. it can take zombies. third weapon, a good blade.Repopulate the Earth? My Gal, hot, fast, and a reddneck. she shoots as well if not better than most of the Marines I work with. Theme Song: Cry of The Banshee by BroncasHelm. Book? The Bible. im not Super Religious, but if the world were to fall into Chaos it would be good rules for Mankind to Follow in the event of a post appcalyptic crisis.

Permalink Reply by Corey C. Jordan on January 20, 2013 at 8:13pm Robert, you still have to aim a shotgun. A typical combat shotgun (MIL-Spec Mossberg 590) has a 20" barrel. That means that you can easily miss at short range. Even one with a shorter barrel (mine is 18.5") has a shot pattern that is still pretty tight at 10 yards. A good way to find out what yours does is to head to a shooting range and pattern test the gun. 10 yards and 25 yards are good to begin with. If shooting longer range, I suggest rifled slugs or sabot, sub-caliber rounds.

1. M1A1 or HK 417, either would be scoped and suppressed (it's my dork fantasy, okay?!?)
2. FN Five - Seven
3. Benelli M4
4. Land Rover or Jeep, whichever you please
5. There is a girl, that is as much as you will know about her
6. Alice in Chains - The Rooster
7. Only the sounds of my weapons
8. SAS Survival Guide (I'll build up the rest of my library as I go along)

Permalink Reply by Corey C. Jordan on January 21, 2013 at 6:24pm The H&K 417 chambers the 7.62x51 NATO cartridge, as does the M1A. It's a scaled-up 416. I'd prefer the M1A. Why, aside from three generations of reliability, it has a full stock, which means you can butt-stroke bad guys and not break it. I've owned an H&K G3 and a CETME 58, both chambered as the 417 and M1A. All excellent battle rifles, and all a great choice. Still, I prefer the M1A.
