This is what Prada thinks we should dress like, apparently.

Found this on another message board I frequent.  Behold Prada's Men's Fall 2012 lineup.

Your thoughts, gentlemen?  At first I curled my lip, then I noticed that there are no neckties in there.  I quite like the idea of a future without neckties.

Steampunk and pseudo-goth.  Not my scene, but I suppose some of the younger guys could pull it off.  Of course, I'd laugh at them, but hey, my dad's generation probably laughed at my parachute pants and hypercolor T-shirts (I don't know why, I'm SURE I looked cool!).

Isn't that the 1912 lineup?

Quite.

Looks interesting.  Wouldn't wear any of it ... but I'm more impressed than I thought I'd be.  Might just be because Gary Oldman is a badass.

JB

I'll agree with liking the loss of the necktie at least

Fabulous, but totally inappropriate for daily wear outside of an office situation.  And the smoking jacket?  Beautiful.  I wonder what they'll call it, though, since smoking is out of fashion?

But why do they all look so unhappy...and is it just me, or do they all look like Dr. Lovelace, ready to hunt down Special Agents Jim West and Artemis Gordon?

+1, Chuck!

High-fashion models are usually posed and pose unhappy/straight-faced/angry. The best reason I know of is it puts the focus on the clothes. Don't want people associating the clothes with only a certain mood/emotion. Even when the clothes are wedding dresses, the models don't smile.

I also read recently that models are concentrating hard. I can believe this, as it's as much the model's job as the photographer's to make sure the model's chin is at the right angle not to cast an unattractive shadow, etc.

Conrad/Martin, not Smith/Klein, of course.

Like there was any doubt.

Don't even mention that garbage

At least I could wear the 2012 outfits to a cowboy action shoot.  Better than 2011: http://ascbs.blogspot.com/2011/03/man-whispers-prada-mens-fall-2011...

"Sounds like you really want to live the Old Yeller movie. I'm sure you have experience killing animals, but shooting a family member is far from humane. Take him to a vet. It's far better than the option you seem to be hinting at."
