There are a host of things I like to do in no order of priority:

• teaching music
• gardening (real amateur landscaping--perennials in particular, especially roses
• being in the life of my grandsons
• performing music with my wife
• reading historical fiction
• calligraphy ( chancery cursive)
• language studies (Latin and German)
• history especially the Medieval Periods
• music histoy
• maintaining deep and abiding friendships
• writing (poetry, biography of family, letters, essays)
• acting (yes, there was a time when I had time for acting--Ado Annie's father in Oklahoma, the father of Harry Beaton in Brigadoon, Henry in All in the Family
• mentoring other men (our men's group)

Life may be difficult at times, but it certainly is not boring.

Pretty proud? Very proud I would say!

And you look very natty, I might add. Thanks for sharing this aspect of your life with us.

I've thought all day about this, and it made me realize how much I've structured, either by chance or on purpose, my life around doing things I love:

I love (as much as anyone can) the design aspects of my job. There's always something new to tackle.

I love being a dad and having a family, having a house to work on inside and out.

I love local history; visiting old homes and places.

I love being the only rooster in the henhouse, as much as I complain about it.

I love an empty gym with the only thing between the weights and me being my mind.

I love watching the sun go down through the forest, splashing light across a newly mowed lawn with a drink in hand.

I love being in water; swimming, floating, diving, splashing.

That being said I love Summer, my favorite time of the year.
