Today at work we started a new research trial. When we do so we make sure all of the trucks are stocked with items necessary and helpful to get the job done. This got me thinking as to what every man should have in his car or truck at any given time.
What do you guys think?
Here's what I was thinking:
Map
Flashlight
Gallon of clean water
First aid kit Lifehammer
Shovel (maybe only in a truck)
Jumper Cables (Even if you don't need them you'll save the day)
Tools:
Socket Set
Vice Grips
Box Wrenches
Ball Peen Hammer
4-Way Tire Wrench
Coveralls and Latex or Nitrile Gloves
(Note: If I am somewhere where I am concerned about my care being broken into I leave these at home with the exception of the 4-Way Coveralls and Gloves)
Whenever I go somewhere I make sure I have an overnight bag in case a couple of drinks turn into more
Also if your care lacks a low fluid indicator keep a Gallon of wiper fluid in the trunk during the winter.
Well both here in Michigan and when I lived in Minnesota/North Dakota ... a cold weather kit that included blankets, granola bars, extra hat and gloves and flares.
Basic tool set
Tape (Electric, Duct/Gorilla, etc)
Jumper Cables
Toilet paper
First Aid kit
Extra Oil, Hose Clamps, Fuses, Fluids, Valve stems, etc
a roll of Quarters
Fix-a-flat
Extra Gloves
Tow Rope
Maps
50/50 water Antifreeze jug
Pens/Pencils & a clip board or notebook
Disposable camera
For winter drivers: a big bag of kitty litter. Provides additional weight so your rear end doesn't slide about, and if you get stuck in ice, provides great traction. If you're more paranoid, a sack of pebbles/rocks takes this further.
