Greetings Everyone,

I am trying to put together a list of things that a man should do every single day. Anything from simple, mundane tasks to more demanding and/or abstract personal development type suggestions will be much appreciated. Eventually I'd like to compile all of them and attempt to hold myself to as many of the ideas as possible.

I'll start with some basic ones that I try to live by:

-Hygiene: shower, make sure your nails are trimmed, brush your teeth, and shave (or ensure that facial hair is presentable).

-Have a plan for accomplishing whatever needs to be done in your day.

-Be informed on the news. Know what's happening in the world.

-Exercise, even if only for 15-20 minutes.

-Drink plenty of water.

-Be friendly with everyone you encounter. A smile can go a long way in improving someone else's day.

-Be mindful of when/where/with whom you use profanity.

-Stand up straight.

-Learn something new.

-Laugh.

What do you do everyday to be a better man?

Good reminder on the last one. I know that all too well.
I'll call now.
John, I'm 63, my dad died when he was 62. My mom is 89 and is in an assisted living facility. I talk to her at least twice a day, and see her every other day.........at the very least.
When they're gone they WILL be missed.

Every day/night(depending on your shift) before you go to bed, try to identify something you learned during your day. Even if it may seem trivial, no lesson is ever wasted, so making a lesson of a daily event may teach you something.

Smoke a pipe. Go to the bookies and flirt with as many women as possible.

What are bookies?

Librarians?

Bookmakers...you know where one places the housekeeping money on a dead cert!

Bookmakers? I imagined a book factory.

Dead cert? Never heard of that either; sounds very Dickensian.

2 nations divided by a common language eh?

I hope you're serious. A bookie is a person who takes bets on a large scale.....as a way to make a living. He sets odds, gives points, and usually is about one step ahead of the law. I'm a retired detective from NEW YORK CITY, and have met many "Bookies" during my 25 years " on the Job"
Hope that helps,

It's not quite the same in England Peter. They have shops all over the place across the pond. It's all above board and legal.

Steve, thanks for the information. I think that's the way it should be.....legal and above board.
Best Regards!
Peter

Christian Men

Regardless of the specifics, we can all agree on one thing. Jesus Christ was the perfect Man who died and rose again for us such that we could have fellowship with Him
