" NOBDY IS ASKING YOU!... IF YOU DON'T THINK YOU HAVE BALLS ENOUGH TO WEAR A TATTOO, DON'T GET ONE, BUT DON'T TRY TO MAKE EXCUSES FOR YOURSELF, BY KNOCKING THE FELLOW WHO DOES!"- Norman "Sailor Jerry" Collins
I'm 20 years old and still clean from the art. I want to get one but only when something major happens in my life (i.e. my father or grandfather passing). My girlfriend really wants me to get something but I continually refuse until i find something memorable and not just another tattoo
There is more to life than death....
for sure. I guess I just want it to mean something to me. I dont want a tattoo because it looks cool, I want something with meaning. I guess I'm just waiting for something to come to me and until then I'll continue my life
That is a good mentality for you to keep. I firmly believe that tattoos should have a deep meaning for you. I have 5 EKG strips on my arms as arm bands- one for each cardiac arrest i have successfully rescuscitated. In essence, each represents a dead person i brought back to life. That's an example of a non-funerary important event. Birth of a child, accomplishment of a lifelong goal, graduation from college... So long as it has a deep meaning to you and you can live with the idea of i being there for the rest of your life, i say go for it.
Thank you . The arm bands is amazing and a fantastic idea! nothing too memorable has happened to me but I still have a long life to live to the fullest to experience something worth staying on my body eternally
I don't believe one should get a tattoo. The only exception I could think of is when, as they were meant to be used, one would indicate he's part of a group.
Otherwise, I wouldn't take one. But that's just my opinion, of course.
