There's actually a group for this. I recommend joining the EDC group and looking at the main topic there. It's just everyone showing what they carry.

One minor note on the EDC group.  There are a few fellows in the group who seem to "EDC" an awful lot of "stuff".

I'd opine that a lot of fellows in the community carry a smallish Swiss Army Knife.  Dashed useful for opening mail & packages, cleaning fingernails, etc.

I do carry the mini Swiss Army in my front pocket, but I also conceal a rather horrifying pair of fighting knives on my belt.

The Mini Swiss has all I need for utility: nail file, scissors, tweezers, a toothpick, and a small blade for the simplest tasks.

For defensive purposes, I clip a small punch dagger on the back of my belt and a fixed blade on the front/side quarter.

If I could carry a sword and .308 as well, I would be one happy dude.

I like the leatherman better myself. I used to carry the Swiss Army until the leatherman knives got affordable. I also carry a benchmade folding clip knife and a Springfield 1911.

I forgot. Three highly useful features on my Swiss Army Knife.  The corkscrew, the can opener, and the scissors.

I never leave home without one, but I go for the Victorinox brand because the steel is harder. It takes longer to sharpen, but the edge stays longer.

Wenger are also good, but the steel (IMHO) is softer, therefore easier to sharpen in a hurry, but the edge doesn't keep as long. I have sharpened Wengers on all sorts of surfaces, something I would never have been able to do with a Victorinox.

I go for the slim versions, not those with 30 tools. They are too bulky for normal pockets and day to day are unnecessary. I only carry the full purpose knives in a backpack when I am downrange.  

One thing to remember is that whipping one out can scare the hell out of the pussified masses, so be careful. I have had security guards called and quickly land on me when I pulled one out to help people fix things in an office. No one had ever seen any kind of knife other than a butter knife before that. Tragic!

I've carried a mini-SAK on my keychain everyday since I was 17 years old (more than 20 years now). It's a Victorinox and has a blade, a file and scissors. It's a very high quality tool that I use daily for small tasks, opening packages, etc.

On my belt I also carry a defense/fighting knife that also gets occasional use for cutting rope, etc. My current favorite in that category, that I have been carrying for a year now, is a Applegate/Fairbairn Combat Folder made by Gerber USA. It's quite a knife, and I like that the sheath allows for vertical or horizontal carry.

I carry a fake SAK in my traveling bathroom bag but a simpler Opinel daily.

A locking blade Case... Bought in 1977, carry it every day.
